WHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE CUP OF COFFEE IN 2025?

As 2025 comes to an end, I find myself looking back and asking a simple but meaningful question: what was your most memorable cup of coffee this year?
Scrolling through my photo album, one image stopped me instantly. It carries so much emotion and holds a very special place in my heart. It was taken in Antakya, Türkiye, a region that was once part of historical Syria. After the devastating earthquake, the city was deeply scarred, damaged buildings, broken roads, and a landscape still in recovery. More than that, you could feel the quiet weight carried by the people: loss, missing loved ones, and hearts learning how to heal.
I was staying at a hotel surrounded by damaged structures and active construction sites. The wind was strong, carrying sand through the air, made even fiercer by the absence of so many buildings. That morning, I sat outside with a cup of Turkish-style coffee, facing the scene before me. It was windy, yet every sip felt warm, not just in temperature, but in spirit. In that moment, coffee became comfort, grounding me in the present while honoring everything that had happened around me.
Another deeply memorable cup came from a visit to a Syrian family’s home. They served traditional Syrian coffee, brewed strong and fragrant with cardamom. The cup itself was beautiful, but what made it unforgettable was the way they shared their ritual. They taught me to place a small piece of chocolate in my mouth before sipping the coffee, letting sweetness and strength melt together. With each sip, warmth and love seemed to flow straight into the heart.
Coffee and travel have a beautiful way of opening conversations, connecting strangers, and turning simple moments into lasting stories. A shared cup of coffee often carries more than flavor, it carries history, resilience, and human connection.
Brew-tiful people, life is a journey, and every cup tells a story.
